Par communiqué daté du 16 août 2024, le ministre de la Santé du Cameroun a annoncé que son pays enregistre 5 cas de variole de singe et 2 décès sur 30 cas suspects depuis le début de l’année. Le communiqué précise que les foyers actifs concernent les régions du Sud-Ouest et du Nord-Ouest. Le chef du département de la Santé a invité les populations au respect des précautions standards d hygiène.
